A&R representatives work for record labels and creative managers are employed by publishing companies. Their roles are similar and they work closely together, but there are also many differences between the two jobs. Frank Heuting (Team Lead Product Management), Tanner Wilfong (A&R Creative Coordinator) and Stijn Versteeg (Creative Manager) will clear things up for you.

Team Lead Product Management at Armada Music
Frank has been working at Armada Music for over 11 years and currently leads the Product & International department. From 2018 to 2023, he was the Marketing Manager for Armin van Buuren, during which time he also oversaw the project management of the A State of Trance mix-albums (actively involved since 'A State of Trance 2013'). He remains actively involved in the current A State of Trance mix-albums due to his expertise.
Stijn Versteeg
Creative Manager at Armada Publishing
Stijn has been working at Armada Music for almost 5 years now as a Creative Manager at Armada’s very own publishing company. While being directly in touch with Armada Publishing’s roster of producers, he helps them on a creative level by setting up writing sessions, toplines or other projects/collaborations that help them create new music. Some artists which are part of the Armada Publishing roster are acts such as AVIRA, Scorz, Chicane, Giuseppe Ottaviani and many more.
Tanner Wilfong
A&R Creative Coordinator at Armada Music
Tanner has been working at Armada Music for 5 years now as an A&R Manager out of the NYC office. Leading Armin van Buuren on the A&R/Music side, he also focuses on a few others artists with providing them toplines, handling their master/business deals, and planning their release schedule. Before working at Armada, Tanner was writing/producing for multiple projects as well as working for others in the same regard.
